Returning What Was Never Yours

Returning What Was Never Yours

Some things we carry
were never meant to stay.

They arrived through someone else

through their pain, their fear, their words.

How to begin

Find a place that brings you comfort.
At the Bluff™, we often find ourselves at Saffin Pond.

Stand with your feet grounded.

Begin with a few light breaths, in and out through your nose.

When you’re ready, let the breath drop lower, into the belly.

Slow inhale through the nose.
Longer exhale through the mouth.

Let your breath settle.

Bring to mind the feeling
just enough to notice it.

Now imagine:

You are holding something
that does not belong to you.

Not as blame.
Not as rejection.

Simply as truth.

Gently say:

This is not mine to keep.

If it helps, imagine placing it down:

  • into the earth

  • into the air

  • back into the wider world

No force.
No urgency.

Let your hands rest.

Notice the space that remains.

Stay there for a moment.
