🌿 Glossary

A few shared words, gently held

Not everything here needs to be defined.

But some words carry a particular meaning at the Bluff™
not technical, not fixed
just a way of pointing.

You don’t need to memorize anything.

Let these meet you as they are.

Living World

Not scenery.
Not something “out there.”

The living world is everything that is alive, moving, relating
including you.

At the Bluff™, we return to this idea often:

We are not separate from the world around us.
We are part of it.

Calm First

A threshold, not a task.

Before we fix, plan, improve, or respond
we settle.

Even for a moment.

Calm First doesn’t mean everything is resolved.
It simply creates space to see more clearly.

Curious Witness

A way of noticing.

To observe without rushing to change.
To allow something to be seen as it is.

This is where awareness begins
not with effort, but with attention.

Practice

Small, repeatable ways of returning.

Not performance.
Not perfection.

A practice can be as simple as:

• pausing before speaking
• stepping outside
• noticing the light

What matters is not the size
but the relationship it creates.

Steeped

A quiet daily ritual.

Tea, prepared with attention,
becomes a way of slowing down.

Not just something to drink
but a moment to arrive.

Field Study

A moment of noticing, captured.

These are not reports.
They are small records of relationship:

what was seen
what was heard
what was felt

Often simple.
Always real.

Voices

People who help us remember.

Writers, thinkers, and teachers
whose words reconnect us
to the living world and to ourselves.

We walk with these voices
not to follow,
but to see more clearly.

The Study

A quiet place of gathering.

Not a classroom.
Not a system to complete.

The Study is where everything lives together:

voices
practices
field notes
tea

Different doors.
The same invitation.

The Bluff™

Not just a place.

A way of being in relationship
with the world around you.

There is no right way to arrive here.

Only the willingness to notice.
