Gentle Hand Stretch
Mahlon Dickerson Reservation
Let your hands open, like the season
If you can, step outside.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Take a slow inhale.
On the exhale, let the breath drop lower, into the belly.
Pause gently when your tank feels empty.
Feel your feet settle on the ground beneath you.
Breathe slowly as you raise your hands in front of you.
Inhale — open your fingers wide
Exhale — soften
Repeat slowly, as many times as your hands would like to open.
Let your hands reach toward the light.
Open, just a little more.
