Let the Living World Speak First

Saffin Pond, early summer

Arrival Breath

Before you ask anything of yourself, step outside.

Let your breath arrive before your thoughts do.

Slow inhale through the nose.
Longer exhale through the mouth.

Again.

Nothing to solve.
Nothing to force.

Let the living world be there first.

Before you ask anything of yourself, step outside.

Practice

Notice one thing that is not asking anything of you.

A leaf moving.
Birdsong.
Moss at the edge of a path.
The smell of rain still held in the air.

Stay with it for a moment.

You do not need to make meaning right away.
You do not need to feel different.

Only notice.

Let the living world be there first.

A Small Reminder 🌿

you are not alone in existence.

🌿 Family: Invite a child or loved one to choose one thing they notice first. No explanation needed.

🌿 Daily Life: Try this before entering your home, answering a message, or starting the next thing.

🌿 Virtual: Step away from the screen or turn toward a window. Let one living thing reach you before you return.
